Genetic analyses reveal a non-panmictic genetic structure in the sablefish Anoplopoma fimbria in the northern Pacific

چکیده

Abstract The sablefish Anoplopoma fimbria is distributed on the continental shelf of North Pacific, has a high commercial value for both fisheries and aquaculture, represents shared resource between countries in Pacific basin. In present study, we extend geographic range surveyed previous studies reexamine population’s genetic structure by integrating phylogeographic patterns mitochondrial DNA microsatellite markers. Our results contradict proposal that constitute single population throughout their distributional range. We observed signal ancient divergence mtDNA differentiates West Coast from rest sample sites, markers reveal contemporary isolation Mexican sablefish. findings show differences localities should be explored more detail to fully understand interconnectedness appears exist populations.

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...

the role of thematic structure in comprehending spoken language

in fact this study is concerned with the relationship between the variation in thematice structure and the comprehension of spoken language. so the study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any relationship between thematic structure and the comprehension of spoken language? 2. which of the themes would have greated thematic force and be easier for the subjects to comprehend? accord...

Population genetic structure of the Japanese eel Anguilla japonica in the northwest Pacific Ocean: evidence of non-panmictic populations

The catadromous Japanese eel has an unusual life history. Controversy remains, however, as to whether its population structure is characterized by panmixia or genetic differentiation. Migration patterns are considered an important factor in determining a species’ population structure. Eight polymorphic microsatellite loci were used as genetic markers through which we were able to reject the nul...

Molecular Analyses Reveal Unexpected Genetic Structure in Iberian Ibex Populations

BACKGROUND Genetic differentiation in historically connected populations could be the result of genetic drift or adaptation, two processes that imply a need for differing strategies in population management. The aim of our study was to use neutral genetic markers to characterize C. pyrenaica populations genetically and examine results in terms of (i) demographic history, (ii) subspecific classi...
